The Nokia C6-01 seems better equipped indeed than most of its direct competitors. HVGA (320 x 480 pixels) seems to be the standard in this price range and nHD (360 x 640 pixels) trumps that and even keeps some deeper blacks in reserve. Not to mention stuff like HD video recording, USB On-the-go, DivX and XviD or Flash support, which are still rare enough to make a great selling point.
From where we stand there are some personality issues the C6-01 needs to tackle if it wants to keep the competition at a safe distance. The Symbian^3 shortcomings (no split-screen typing and a sub-par web browser) may not be make-or-break in the mid-range but they certainly matter. The other thing is the fixed focus imaging Nokia are so fond of.
Anyway, this phone looks good and we really hope it delivers on the promises it makes. It’s not the top of the smartphone food chain and the C6-01 doesn’t feel particularly threatened. On the other hand, strong newcomers are always welcome in the midrange.
Nokia C6-01 feature pack and capabilities are almost the same as the previous Symbian^3-powered C7. The thing that makes C6-01 special is its elegant and unique look plus it’s compact form factor. We guess the lower price will be a factor too.
This time Nokia has bet on a smaller AMOLED screen in order to give us a more pocket friendly phone. Of course, shrinking the phone has made an impact on the thickness, but most users won’t have problems with that additional 3mm.
At the time being Nokia C6-01 can be yours for around 300 euro, which is close to the price announced initially by Nokia. As things stand right now, the Nokia C6-01 is too close to C7. The only differences are in the slightly bigger screen and the FM transmitter.

Berkeley, Wanita yang sedang hamil sebaiknya berhati-hati memilih sayuran atau buah-buahan. Konsumsi pestisida yang tinggi pada sayur dan buah saat hamil bisa membuat bayi terlahir dengan tingkat IQ lebih rendah.
Menurut tiga buah studi, anak-anak yang lahir dari ibu yang sering terpapar pestisida tertentu saat hamil memiliki IQ (Intelligence Quotient) yang lebih rendah ketimbang rekan-rekannya yang tidak terpapar pestisida sejak dalam kandungan.
Pestisida yang dikenal sebagai organofosfat, umumnya disemprotkan pada tanaman pangan dan dapat ditemukan pada berry, kacang hijau, buah-buahan dan sayuran lainnya yang dijual di toko-toko.
Pestisida juga telah digunakan di rumah dan kebun, walaupun penggunaan indoor (untuk dalam ruangan) telah secara luas dibatasi karena masalah keamanan.
Organofosfat yang membunuh hama dengan menyerang sistem saraf, sebelumnya telah dikaitkan dengan keterlambatan perkembangan dan masalah perhatian pada anak-anak yang terpapar di dalam rahim.
Sekarang, para peneliti di dua lokasi yang berbeda telah menemukan bahwa IQ anak-anak cenderung menurun secara proporsional karena paparan pestisida saat ibu hamil.
Salah satu studi diikuti ratusan ibu dan anak-anak Latin di California's Salinas Valley, pusat pertanian komersial. Banyak wanita yang menjadi pekerja kebun atau memiliki anggota keluarga yang bekerja di ladang.
Ketika wanita-wanita tersebut hamil, peneliti menguji air seni mereka untuk beberapa bahan kimia produk standar organofosfat dengan menggunakan alat pengukuran eksposur.
Hasilnya, para ibu hamil yang terpapar pestisida tingkat tertinggi memiliki anak-anak pada usia 7 tahun dengan IQ tujuh poin lebih rendah dibandingkan rata-rata anak yang ibunya sangat rendah terpapar pestisida (rata-rata adalah 100).
"Ini tidak berbeda dengan penurunan yang kita lihat pada anak yang terkena paparan timbal tinggi," jelas penulis senior studi, Brenda Eskenazi, Ph.D., seorang profesor epidemiologi dan kesehatan ibu dan anak di University of California, Berkeley, seperti dilansir Health.com, Selasa (26/4/2011).
Menurut catatan studi, organofosfat yang 'lolos' dari ibu ke janin melalui plasenta dan tali pusar, bisa lebih merusak perkembangan janin ketimbang yang langsung terpapar pada anak-anak (yang sudah dilahirkan).
Peneliti mengatakan, tren serupa juga bisa ditemukan di luar komunitas pertanian. Wanita hamil di luar komunitas pertanian juga bisa terpapar pestisida tingkat tingg dari buah dan sayur yang dimakannya.
Namun Eskenazi menekankan, bagaimanapun wanita hamil tidak boleh berhenti makan buah-buahan dan sayuran.
"Benar-benar penting bahwa mereka (ibu hamil) memiliki pola makan yang memadai dalam hal kesehatan anak mereka," kata Eskenazi.
Namun, ia menambahkan, sangat penting untuk mencuci buah dan sayuran, bahkan pada buah yang memiliki kulit.
"Buah dan sayur tetap harus dicuci sebelum Anda mengupasnya," tegasnya.

Pernikahan akbar tahun ini antara calon putra mahkota Inggris, Pangeran William dengan Kate Middleton sepertinya akan terganggu hujan. Padahal pada prakiraan cuaca sebelumnya, hari itu 29 April 2011 akan sangat panas.
Ramalan cuaca terbaru ini disampaikan Helen Rossington, ahli cuaca senior dari MeteoGroup, sebuah badan cuaca Eropa. Dia mengatakan bahwa perhitungan terbaru menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan dari perkiraan cuaca sebelumnya.
"(Jumat nanti) Suhu udara kemungkinan akan berada sedikit di bawah rata-rata dan kemungkinan terjadi hujan lebat," ujar Rossington dilansir dari laman The Telegraph, Senin, 25 April 2011.
Ahli cuaca lainnya dari MeteoGroup, Lindsay Dove, mengatakan bahwa suhu pada akhir pekan nanti akan mencapai 18 derajat celcius di London. Sementara itu, di Irlandia Utara dan Skotlandia, suhu akan mencapai 11 hingga 14 derajat celcius.
Hal serupa disampaikan oleh ahli cuaca dari Met Office, badan cuaca Inggris, yang mengatakan bahwa suhu di inggris dan Wales pada akhir pekan kemungkinan akan turun.
"Secara umum di daerah London akan ada awan tebal, kemungkinan cerah sedikit, namun ada risiko hujan gerimis pada hari itu," ujar Tom Morgan, juru bicara Met Office.
"Angin pelan dari timur laut akan membuat suhu lebih dingin daripada sebelumnya," lanjutnya lagi.
Selain di London, hujan juga kemungkinan akan terjadi di kampung halaman Kate di Buckleburry, Berks. Di tempat ini tadinya akan diadakan pesta minum teh di lapangan terbuka untuk merayakan pernikahan akbar tersebut.
Sebelumnya, cuaca pada akhir pekan diperkirakan akan berada pada titik terpanasnya di bulan April. Bahkan cuaca diperkirakan akan menjadi yang terpanas sejak 2007.
Jika memang perubahan suhu dan hujan ini benar terjadi, maka acara pernikahan William-Kate akan mengalami perubahan. Rencana awal, kedua mempelai akan melakukan iring-iringan dari Westminster Abbey menggunakan kereta kencana atap terbuka.
Jika hujan, maka kedua mempelai akan menaiki kereta kencana yang tertutup kaca. Padahal, iring-iringan mempelai dengan atap terbuka telah ditunggu publik Inggris yang diperkirakan akan memadati jalanan. (umi)

Worse yet, while loyal users are still sitting on a fence about replacing their E71/E72s Nokia is deciding whether to euthanize Symbian. Question marks have been hanging over the platform’s approach to touchscreen since day one. And now it’s got WP7 at its very doorstep. It’s the worst of times for the Nokia E7. But it’s up to it to show that the Eseries are still open for business.

Now, Nokia reconfirmed their commitment to Symbian in the short-term, but that doesn’t mean much. If the platform is to be scrapped, users will learn it the hard way when regular updates stop coming in. Occasional bug-fixes is the best they can hope to get. And good software support is among of the main reasons why people still choose Nokia.
However, how much short-term can stretch depends on the success of the current Symbian^3 devices. So if the Nokia E7 does at least as well on the market as the N8, it might as well buy the platform a few extra years.
As you can see from the lists above, the Nokia E7 is basically a larger N8, trading the camera bulk for a a larger and better display and a full QWERTY keyboard. To be honest though, when we reviewed the N8 it was mostly the camera we were delighted with. Then, that was five months ago and the bar is set higher now.
The Nokia E7 certainly won’t have an easy ride throughout this review. Let’s see how it handles the pressure.

Tahukah saudara bahwa ketika seorang Mu’min telah lulus menyelesaikan segenap rangkaian pemeriksaan atas dirinya di yaumul hisab (hari perhitungan amal), maka barulah ia diizinkan Allah memasuki Al-Jannah (surga), negeri keabadian penuh kebahagiaan hakiki? Ia tidak diizinkan memasuki surga bilamana terbukti ia masih mempunyai permasalahan dengan sesama manusia, walaupun dengan Allah Ta’aala ia tidak lagi punya masalah apa-apa. Segenap dosanya yang bersifat hablun minallah telah diampuni Allah Ta’aala. Namun karena ia masih memiliki masalah hablun minannaas dengan sesama manusia, maka ia ditahan di suatu tempat dekat sekali dari baabul-jannah (pintu surga) guna menyelesaikan berbagai perkara (melakukan rekonsiliasi) dengan sesama manusia.
Dalam hal ini Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam menggambarkannya sebagai berikut:
Dari Abu Sa'id Al Khudri ia berkata; Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda, "Orang-orang yang beriman pada hari Kiamat selamat dari neraka, lalu mereka ditahan di jembatan antara surga dan neraka, lalu sebagian akan diqishas atas sebagian yang lain karena kezhaliman mereka waktu di dunia, sehingga setelah mereka dibersihkan dan telah suci, maka barulah mereka diizinkan memasuki surga. Demi Dzat yang jiwaku ada dalam genggaman-Nya, seseorang di antara mereka lebih mengetahui rumahnya di surga dari pada rumahnya di dunia." (HR. Ahmad No. 10673)
Dalam hadits di atas Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam menggunakan istilah "ditahan di jembatan antara surga dan neraka" untuk menggambarkan masih menggantungnya masalah orang-orang beriman yang belum berhak masuk surga karena masih adanya problema antara dirinya dengan manusia lainnya yang pernah ia zalimi. Perbuatan menzalimi manusia lain merupakan perbuatan tercela yang sangat dibenci Allah Ta’aala. Dalam sebuah hadits Qudsi dikatakan sebagai berikut:
Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda bahwa Allah berfirman, “Wahai para hamba-Ku, sesungguhnya Aku mengharamkan kezaliman atas diri-Ku dan Aku mengharamkannya pula atas kalian, maka janganlah kalian saling menzalimi.” (HR. Ahmad No. 20451)
Surga merupakan tempat yang hanya berhak dimasuki oleh hamba-hamba Allah Ta’aala yang benar-benar telah bersih dari segenap dosa, baik dosa kepada Allah Ta’aala maupun dosa kepada sesama hamba Allah. Oleh karenanya, seorang muslim senantiasa mendambakan dan mengharapkan ampunan Allah Ta’aala sebab ia tahu bahwa jika dirinya masih mempunyai dosa niscaya ia tidak berhak memasuki surga. Dan oleh karenanya seorang muslim sangat khawatir bila dirinya terlibat dalam sebuah perbuatan menzalimi manusia lain, sebab ia tahu bahwa mengharapkan maaf dari sesama manusia seringkali lebih sulit daripada mengharapkan ampunan Allah Ta’aala yang Maha Pengampun lagi Maha Penyayang.
Maka di dalam hadits di atas Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam menyatakan “...lalu sebagian akan diqishas atas sebagian yang lain karena kezhaliman mereka waktu di dunia...” dan ini merupakan suatu keharusan agar si muslim yang sempat berlaku zalim dapat menjadi bersih dari dosa tersebut sehingga layak memasuki surga. Sebab surga hanya menerima mereka yang bersih dan suka membersihkan diri. Oleh karenanya Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam selanjutnya berkata, “...maka barulah mereka diizinkan memasuki surga.”
Lalu terakhir Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam menyatakan bahwa “Demi Dzat yang jiwaku ada dalam genggaman-Nya, seseorang di antara mereka lebih mengetahui rumahnya di surga dari pada rumahnya di dunia." Si mukmin kemudian berhak memasuki surga Allah Ta’aala dan Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam menggambarkan bahwa ketika si mukmin menginjakkan kakinya ke dalam surga tiba-tiba kakinya membawa tubuhnya melangkah menuju kediamannya di surga lebih mengetahui, mantap dan yakin daripada ia melangkahkan kakinya pulang ke rumahnya sewaktu hidup di dunia. Subhanallah...
Jadi, saudaraku, surga memang benar-benar kampung halaman sejati orang-orang beriman. Sebab Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam sampai perlu bersumpah demi Allah Ta’aala Dzat yang jiwanya berada di dalam genggamanNya, ketika menggambarkan hal tersebut. Sewaktu di dunia seseorang setelah pulang dari dinas luar kota tentu sangat rindu pulang ke rumahnya agar berkumpul dengan anak dan istrinya. Boleh jadi kerinduannya sedemikian rupa malah menyebabkan dirinya sampai kehilangan arah alias tersesat pulang ke rumahnya sendiri. Hal ini tidak bakal terjadi ketika seorang mu’min memasuki pintu surga lalu melangkahkan kakinya menuju rumah sejatinya, kampung halaman sejatinya.
Sungguh bahagianya bila seseorang dapat memasuki pintu surga lalu berkumpul kembali bersama keluarganya dan anak-keturunannya di kampung halaman sejati orang-orang beriman.
Allah Ta’aala berfirman di dalam Kitabullah Al-Qur’anul Karim:
“Dan orang-orang yang beriman, dan yang anak cucu mereka mengikuti mereka dalam keimanan, Kami pertemukan anak cucu mereka dengan mereka (di dalam surga), dan Kami tiada mengurangi sedikit pun dari pahala amal mereka. Tiap-tiap manusia terikat dengan apa yang dikerjakannya.” (QS. Ath-Thuur [52] : 21).
Allah Ta’aala berfirman di dalam Kitabullah Al-Qur’anul Karim:
Dan didekatkanlah surga itu kepada orang-orang yang bertakwa pada tempat yang tiada jauh (dari mereka). Inilah yang dijanjikan kepadamu, (yaitu) kepada setiap hamba yang selalu kembali (kepada Allah) lagi memelihara (semua peraturan-peraturan-Nya). (Yaitu) orang yang takut kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Pemurah sedang Dia tidak kelihatan (olehnya) dan dia datang dengan hati yang bertobat, masukilah surga itu dengan aman, itulah hari kekekalan. (QS. Qaaf [50] : 32-34 )
Ya Allah, masukkanlah kami beserta keluarga dan anak-cucu kami ke dalam RahmatMu dan SurgaMu.

Ever since AOL bought the Huffington Post, one group of high-profile bloggers at our sister site Engadget (AOL also owns TechCrunch) decided they did not like the direction the company was going and left quite vocally. It seemed that every week one of them quit in a huff.
Now we know where they went. Eight of those bloggers, led by former editor in chief Joshua Topolsky, are preparing to launch a competing tech blog at SB Nation, which is currently a sports blog network whose CEO, Jim Bankoff, is a former AOL executive. As David Carr at the New York Times writes:
At first blush, SB Nation would seem to be an odd home for a gadget blog — the Venn diagram intersection between geeks and jocks usually is defined by the Madden NFL games.
The new site doesn’t have a name yet—call it Tech Gadget Nation for now—and won’t launch until the fall. Besides Topolsky, the other bloggers Bankoff poached from AOL are Nilay Patel, Paul Miller, Joanna Stern, Ross Miller, Chris Ziegler, Justin Glow and Dan Chilton. Bankoff picked them off one by one as they departed, he says.
Where does that leave AOL and Engadget? It survived the departure of its first two rockstar editors, Peter Rojas and Ryan Block, who went on to start GDGT, and it will survive this talent turnover as well. In fact, editorial director Joshua Fruhlinger, who has been at Engadget since 2004 and was Topolsky’s boss, tells me that he’s hired seven new editorial staffers in the past month alone (Richard Lai, Myriam Joire, Christopher Trout, Dana Wollman, Brian Heater, Brett Terpstra, and Paul Heuts), and is about to announce two more additions, including new editor in chief Tim Stevens (formerly the automotive editor). “Engadget is nonstop,” he says.
